If you’re a Gilly, you’ll already know that the Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Lifetrailer was released today. You’ll not only know it but you’ll have seen it several times and paused it to analyse every 1-second clip for spoilers.
By now you’ve probably noticed the big things like Emily in a t-shirt and jeans, Stars Hollow: The Musical, Lorelai seeing a therapist, Jess’ hair, the random pig running through town, Miss Patty’s dramatic weight loss and Kirk’s beard. Oh and the Gilmore Guys cameo in the Dragonfly dining room. Well, I noticed some other stuff. Unimportant stuff, some might say. But who’s to say what’s important? Come on, I’ll take you on a journey back through the most joyous 2 minutes and 26 seconds we’ve collectively experienced since 2007 (when the last episode aired).
Recently I was at a friend’s house for a dinner and someone quoted ‘The IT Crowd.’ I’m not even exaggerating when I say that everyone literally stopped and started quoting their fave moments. So obviously the next minute we were watching some of our favourite episodes.
A couple of weeks later I was at work and someone sitting behind me (who happens to work in IT) made some comment about it and their entire team started talking about their favourite moments too. I was just sitting at my desk smirking…I didn’t realise it was such a cult classic.
So if you haven’t seen it you are seriously missing out. Here are 10 reasons to get watching…
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you would know that Season 1 of Fuller House, the reboot of Full House, was released on February 28 on Netflix and has just been renewed for a second season! Having grown up crushing on Uncle Jesse and wishing we were as cool as D.J., this was cause for great excitement here at Cactus Pop!
You may remember in the lead up to the premiere, we posted a list of 10 things we wanted to see. Check out what we got and what we didn’t get before you dive into our season 1 episode recaps.
It is a truth universally acknowledged that a book like Pride and Prejudice must be in want of an adaptation! It was written over 200 years ago but the adaptations aren’t dying down because it’s JST (just so timeless). There are classic versions like the BBC miniseries and the “Keira Knightley one” and then there are looser adaptations like Bride & Prejudice and The Lizzie Bennet Diaries. Consider yourself a P&P fan? How many of these 12 adaptations have you seen?
Even if you’ve never seen Full House, you probably still know that John Stamos (and John Stamos’ hair) was in it, it launched the careers of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and the theme song had a series of lengthy ‘ahhhhs’. I mean it was on the air from 1987-1995 so you should at least know it existed. Since nostalgia is a thing these days, it’s getting a Netflix sequel series called Fuller House. Like, of course. Also, it’s coming real soon. February 26th to be exact. As a long-time fan, I have to say this – HAVE MERCY! Also, I’ve got demands.
